(SCS), a forestry and land management consulting firm based in Monticello, GA, is pleased to announce the following employment opportunity:Forestry and Land Manager We are seeking a candidate that has a background in forestry and land management. The candidate must be flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of a variety of different work tasks and field environments.Daily job duties will be variable but will include activities such as the following:- Contractor compliance- Prescribed fire - Timber sale/harvest layout- Cruising - Silvicultural activities such as site preparation and planting, herbicide use including a working knowledge of common forest herbicides, pre-commercial thinning, release & herbaceous weed control, etc.- Boundary line identification/painting- Road maintenance and construction - Wildlife & habitat management - Aquatic herbicides The ideal candidate will possess 1 year+ of relevant work experience, but a more recent graduate or upcoming graduate may be considered with the right level and quality of internships and other work experience.
