There are three (3) awards of $3000 totaling $9,000 each year. If a student is awarded a scholarship, they are eligible to receive the award for up to three (3) years. Once a student is no longer eligible for a scholarship, we will solicit new applications (on an annual basis) to fill any openings, again to a maximum of three (3) awards total per year.

MOTAG – South will resume awarding the James A. Holekamp Memorial /Charles S. Gardner Memorial Scholarship now that their annual meeting has resumed (post Covid-19).

The purpose of the scholarship program is to provide financial aid to deserving students who have demonstrated a certain degree of scholastic achievement in the study of Forestry, Silviculture, Land Management, etc. and have financial need. The scholarships are open to all qualifying students in their sophomore year or above at an accredited university in the Southeast or Southcentral United States with the intent to pursue a degree in a wood fiber related major.

Universities that are interested in participating in the scholarship program are requested to distribute this information to their students who are pursuing a bachelor’s (or higher) degree in the above listed study areas.
