Job Description:

This is a professional and administrative position responsible for developing, leading and coordinating all forest management activities on John M. Bethea State Forest.

Activities include directing, guiding and providing leadership in the major program areas of reforestation, restoration, geographic information systems, global positioning systems, wildlife habitat, prescribed fire, easements, land acquisition and land disposition, forest product sales and recreation. Responsible for contract management and maintaining documentation on state forest activities.

Qualifications:

bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major course of study in forestry and three (3) years of forestry experience; or

 

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in forestry and two (2) years of forestry experience; or

 

Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

 

Requires possession of a valid driver license.

Miscellaneous:

Successful applicant must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.

 

Salary:
$36,357.66 - $50,050.00
