About the Opportunity:

Copperhead Environmental Consulting is expanding our team and actively seeking a Forestry/Habitat Restoration Technician to join our family of professional consultants. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to develop a long-term career in the environmental consulting industry and is open to diversification across the company.

Responsibilities:

· Work as part of a team conducting forest management activities

· Work as part of a team using herbicide treatments targeting invasive species

· Apply pesticides by direct injection, basal, and foliar methods

· Use pesticides according to the manufacturer’s label

· Conduct Timber Stand Improvements (TSI) using mechanical methods, to include limited chainsaw use for girdling and felling

· Follow detailed instructions to complete required tasks

· Maintain tools and equipment

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in forestry, wildlife management, or related science is preferred

· Experience working with or knowledge of natural systems

· Knowledge of forest and wildlife management techniques preferred

· Ability to identify trees and plants by species is required

· Must pass the state certified pesticide applicator in Kentucky license test in the first 90 days of employment

· Must be able to operate various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner (e.g., manual and powered sprayers, chainsaws, GPS units, all-terrain vehicles, and 4-wheel drive vehicles)

· Must hold a valid driver’s license
