Responsibilities include management of federal and other grants for habitat development, WMA Operation and Maintenance, Population Monitoring, wildlife technical assistance, and hunter education and shooting range operation and maintenance. Works with regional supervisors, program managers and section leadership to develop section goals consistent with funding sources. Provides support for legislative/policy reviews and initiatives, budget assessments, vehicle procurement and annual performance reports. Supervises the Hunter Development Program, Forest Management Unit and Urban Wildlife Program. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, fisheries management, wildlife management or a natural resources related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related natural resources experience at a supervisory/management level; or One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Mgr. 1, Natural Resources (NRM040) or position equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: 1. A Master’s degree in wildlife science or a closely related field 2. Experience with grant-writing, proposals, and budgeting 3. Experience managing grants and contracts 4. Working knowledge of DNR human resources policies and procedures 5.
