Job Description:

This individual will lead program and project management for the GA-SIC, including the state’s logger education program, landowner outreach projects, and public outreach to students, educators, and other groups outside the forestry community. This position handles all aspects of creating, publicizing, scheduling, and conducting the Georgia Master Timber Harvester program. The scope of outreach responsibilities includes a broad array of communication formats, web design, innovation, process improvement and collaboration across a variety of forestry-focused initiatives.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: baccalaureate degree in the field. Preferred qualifications: competence with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, virtual meeting software; experience with budgeting, database management, and project management. Ideal candidate will also have experience in adult education with an emphasis on forestry, logging operations, and/or forest certification.

Miscellaneous:

This individual interacts with leaders in the Georgia forestry community. The decisions and actions of this position reflect on the University, the GASIC committee members, including industry, state agencies, and associations. The variation in work and organizational influence is something that makes this role particularly exciting. Exceptional leadership, organizational and time management skills are integral to this position.
