Job Description:

The Jones Center at Ichauway invites applications for the Geospatial Analyst position. The successful candidate will lead the further development and maintenance of the Center’s extensive GIS database and associated systems in support of the Center’s scientific research, administrative, conservation and educational programs. This position reports to the Conservation Coordinator and works with staff in Research, Conservation and IT. This position will work onsite at the Jones Center a 28,500-acre research center is in southwestern Georgia between Albany and Bainbridge. The Center’s research, education, and conservation programs focus on ecology and natural resource management. The site includes 16,000 acres of longleaf pine forests, over 1,000 acres of wetlands, and 26 miles of stream and river ecosystems. Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

• Maintaining and organizing long-term spatial datasets, GIS software and licenses.

• Creating and maintaining referenced site use and infrastructure maps.

• Conducting GIS analyses to support conservation, research and outreach education.

• Developing and delivering GPS and GIS training.

• Maintaining and updating Landcover, Long Term Monitoring and Timber inventory maps and data.

• Communicating effectively with all levels of staff.

• Working under minimal direction to independently determine and develop approaches and solutions.

• Leveraging the latest geospatial technologies to drive organizational value.

• Modernizing Center GIS capabilities for improved insights and performance.

• Integrating cutting-edge geospatial technologies like real-time data feeds, cloud computing, and advanced analytics into our organizational workflows to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Compensation is commensurate with education, qualifications and experience and includes a competitive benefits
