Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

Multiple graduate positions available to enhance the control of invasive Grass Carp by agencies within the Great Lakes Basin, particularly Lake Erie.  Possible questions include improving direct removal techniques, quantitative analysis to help target and assessremoval, generating a better understanding of behavior, reproductive biology, and life history to improve removal, detecting possible spawning locations and seasons with early life history stages.

Students will work closely with partners at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, OH DNR, USFWS, MI DNR, USGS, and other state and US and Canadian federal agencies.  

Candidates will be considered at the MS and PhD level. Successful applicantswill have a BS or MS in ecology, environmental sciences, fisheries, or related discipline and some experience in aquatic research or management.

Salary:
RA includes minimum annual stipends of $21,400 (MS) or $23,950 (PhD), funds to cover insurance costs, some fees, and a tuition waiver. Multiple years of RA support are planned.
