Job Description:

Paul Curtis (Cornell Cooperative Extension) and Bruce Lauber (Cornell Center for Conservation Social Sciences) are seeking applicants for a graduate assistantship for an M.S. student.  The student is expected to contribute to a project on risk management related to tick- and mosquito-borne diseases in New York State by encouraging risk-reduction behaviors.

The applicant will be expected to develop both qualitative and quantitative research skills and to carry out a survey, focus groups, and/or interviews. Support packages may include a combination of research and teaching assistantships, depending upon the qualifications and interests of the student.

Qualifications:

B.S. The successful applicant will have a strong background in some combination of risk analysis, management, and/or communication; natural resource management; and/or environmental psychology (experience in all areas is not necessary).  Applicants should have a record of outstanding academic performance (e.g., >3.5 GPA) and comfort with working with stakeholders.
