Deadline: Fri, 10/11/2024 - 12:00pm Employer: UGA Whitehall Research Greenhouse Job Field: Forestry Water and Soil Resources Other Job Type: Part Time Location: Georgia Location Detail: Athens, GA Job Description: Job Summary: The greenhouse assistants help keep the greenhouses running smoothly by watering plants, cleaning the greenhouses, monitoring greenhouse functions, building/operating/maintaining irrigation systems, propagating plants and fertilizing plants. Schedule: 8-10 hours a week, flexible with class schedule but need some weekday morning availability. Will need weekend morning availability twice a month for approximately two hours (8:00AM to 10:00AM) both Saturday and Sunday. This is a position for the Fall ’24 semester with the possibility of extending into the Spring ’25 semester. Qualifications: Desired Qualifications: Preferred applicants are reliable, responsible, flexible, and communicative. Must be comfortable working in hot and bright environments, standing and walking on cement floors throughout your shift, and can lift about 40 pounds. Must be enrolled in Warnell for the Fall ’24 semester. Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Applicants do not need to have any greenhouse experience! Salary: Salary: $14/hour
