Job Description:

This position is responsible for the Coordination of the Habitat Stamp Program. Major duties/responsibilities include:

 

- Oversight and management of an approximate annual budget of $2,000,000

 

- Development and Implementation of Fish and Wildlife Habitat Restoration and Conservation Projects on federal public lands throughout New Mexico, utilizing funds from the Habitat Stamp Program.

 

- Statewide coordination with Federal natural resource managers, NGO's, Department of Game and Fish staff and biologists and with a State Game Commission appointed Citizen Advisory committee.

 

-Facilitation of Public meetings to include and inform the public about Program activities.

 

This position has both field and office duties, with an approximately even (50/50) split.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Range Management, Range Science, Wildlife Biology, Environment Science, Conservation Science, Natural Resources, Watershed Management, Anthropology or Archeology and two (2) years of experience in Forestry or Range Management, Range Science, Wildlife Biology, Environment Science, or Watershed Management, Anthropology or Archeology.

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

-Experience with habitat restoration planning and implementation

-Experience working on fish and/or wildlife habitat management issues in the western United States

-Experience working on budget management and contract administration

-Experience with project management

-Experience using ArcGIS software

Salary:
$50,155 - $80,248 Annually, Dependent upon Qualifications
