ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Hunt Administrator oversees the administrative details for the Hunting programs at Vermejo, Ladder and Armendaris. The successful employee will have a strong commitment to conservation. This employee is committed to wildlife as a public trust resource, hunts that support sustainable wildlife populations, and adheres to science-based wildlife management.

 

 

As a Hunt Administrator, the job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Use property management system and Microsoft Excel to manage the reservations and scheduling process for all hunts on Vermejo, Ladder and Armendaris.

Work closely with Hunt Managers from Vermejo, Ladder, and Armendaris properties to collectively track and manage the invoice process for all hunts.

Respond to email and phone inquiries in a timely manner in conjunction with both Hunt Managers.

Develop and maintain a strong understanding of what Vermejo, Ladder and Armendaris offer to curate itineraries that meet individual guests' needs and requirements as well as maximize company revenue through upselling techniques.

Work as an ambassador to all hunting guests for Vermejo, Ladder and Armendaris, working alongside the Hunt Managers to ensure guests expectations are set accordingly and met pre/post and during their stays.

Ensure that all curated itineraries are confirmed and reconfirmed for guest stays, including coordination with the transportation, activities, the spa and the food and beverage departments to ensure all requests are accommodated.

Liaise with Activities, Transportation, F&B and the Front Desk on the guest activities, communicating any changes as necessary.

Maintain communication with guests pre-stay and during their stay on the Reserve to ensure that everything is executed as it should be.

Proactively promote additional services to guests, facilitating cross-selling opportunities between leisure and hunt season, and across different properties.

Partner with the TTR Marketing team to prepare accurate and informative materials for the purposes of driving revenues and staying true to our ultimate mission to conserve our lands and connect people with nature.

Assist with reporting to New Mexico Game & Fish and Natural Resources management on wildlife harvest levels throughout the hunting season.

Attend hunting shows for sales & marketing, including the Dallas Safari Club Show as needed.

Assist other departments when needed, providing guiding services to our guests through our activities department during windows outside of hunting.

All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

A diploma and/or GED is and some college is highly preferred. Experience working in a luxury hotel/resort setting with creating guest experiences is highly preferred.

 

2+ years of experience in the hunting industry is highly preferred. Must possess knowledge of experiential and education-based hunting practices.

Miscellaneous:

ACCOMMODATIONS

Position may require employee to live on Vermejo headquarters approximately 40 miles from the closest town. Vermejo’s location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.

 

Vermejo, A Ted Turner Reserve offers dorm room style company housing (subject to availability).

 

The nearest town, Raton, NM, is located approximately 1 hour from Vermejo headquarters, and employees will need to provide or arrange for their own transportation to and from Raton for personal supplies.
