Seeking applicants for part-time hunter check station operator at Apalachee WMA (Jackson County) for the 2025-2026 Archery, Muzzleloading Gun, and General Gun hunting seasons. This is a part time/seasonal position with no benefits.

Work Shifts Include:

  • Archery Season: October 25 - November 23
    • Monday - Sunday
  • Early General Gun Season: November 27 – November 30
    • Thursday - Sunday
  • Muzzleloading Gun Season: December 6 - 8
    • Saturday - Monday
  • General Gun Season: December 13 - February 15
    • Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

Responsibilities:
Checking hunters in and out of the WMA, collecting data from harvested game, and providing excellent customer service to hunters and area users.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED. Must be comfortable interacting with public and collecting samples from harvested animals such as deer, feral hog, quail, and waterfowl. Must pass background check.  Knowledge of hunting preferred; not required.
