This Fellowship aims to encourage students from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to seek a graduate degree in ecology and to increase representation, participation, and inclusion of underrepresented groups in the field. Representation of all human communities in the field of ecology leads to novel insight into ecological processes, improves their application to management and conservation, and ensures their relevance to humanity. Diversity, equity, and inclusivity enrich learning and inform and improve how we conduct science. Our program engages a new kind of scientist: one whose ability to perform research with immediate relevance for solving problems is matched by their skills in collaborating with affected communities to produce accessible, socially just, and scientifically relevant results for utilization by agency scientists and natural resource managers, policy-makers, and the public while also striving for inclusivity within the scientific community. Qualifications: B.S. in related degree How to Apply: To apply for this Fellowship, please upload a 1-2 page statement along with your application to the M.S. in Ecology Program. Your statement should address your background, skills, and experience as related to the programmatic values described above (diversity, equity, inclusivity, innovation, collaboration with affected communities, social justice, etc.). Your statement should also describe how receiving this scholarship will aid in enabling your educational journey and commitment to the field of ecology. Applicants may choose to apply for the 2-year Master of Science in Ecology, or the 3-year EMPLOYS program* (Master of Science in Ecology + Master in Environmental Management).
