Common tasks that are associated include the design, layout, and the administration of timber cruises to monitor the growth and composition of Green Diamond’s redwood forest. Listed are examples of the work this role performs: Stand delineation using aerial photographs along with LiDAR and informational shapefiles. Update stand typing in ArcMap that incorporates harvest history. Design of plot/sample placement for maximum coverage within budget constraints. Stand and road access reconnaissance. Preparation of quality maps and printed materials. Checks submitted timber cruising information from contractors and trains new employees on cruising protocols and methods. Must maintain good communication when working with all internal departments, forestry consultants and their employees. The pay range listed is just one part of Green Diamond’s total compensation package.
