Job Description:

This position resides in our Analytics, Valuation, and Technology Solutions and will support forest inventories throughout the country in addition to local inventory efforts and natural resource management projects. Interest in learning about emerging markets and forest carbon related services is preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

 

  • Inventory data collection with necessary level of speed and precision dependent upon project requirements
  • Detailed tree data recording of field observations
  • Forest inventory data management and quality control
  • Field project logistics and planning
  • Field hardware and software setup, support, and management
  • Final inventory product development
  • Carbon and forest inventory field leadership
  • Timber sale marking, setup, marketing, and administration following site-specific prescriptions on all timber types common to Lake States
  • Harvest boundary research and delineation
  • Utilizing sub-meter GPS for a variety of applications including timber sale establishment, plot location collection, and wetland boundary recording
  • Stand reconnaissance and silvicultural planning
  • Periodic travel on project may exceed ±50 percent (in and out of state)
  • Other duties as assigned
