Deadline: Fri, 06/17/2022 - 12:00pm Employer: State of Idaho Department of Lands Job Field: Forestry GIS/Technology Job Type: Full Time Location: Idaho Location Detail: St. Maries, Idaho Job Description: Lands Resource Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervises professional and seasonal staff in the management of forest and other resources on state endowment land. Including: Hiring Training Assigning work Evaluating performance Resolving problems Coordinates the area's forest management projects including site preparation, planting, competitive vegetation control, pest control, and stocking surveys. Inspects fieldwork and reviews documents for technical requirements, compliance with state and federal laws, and fairness in lease/contract administration. Prepares and monitors budgets, reviews and approves expenditures, and maintains equipment and supplies. Facilitates communications between area and bureau staff on emerging issues and complex concerns, requesting technical expertise or guidance with the interpretation of laws and department policies as needed. Works with private landowners, contractors, county officials, federal agencies, state agencies, and the general public to provide information, respond to requests, and to coordinate emergency response. May also represent IDL on committees and at public meetings. Participates in wildfire suppression response as needed.
