Job Description:

The East Foundation is seeking a lead quail research technician. Duties will include but are not limited to trapping quail on East Foundation properties, baiting trap sites, collecting hunter harvest data, observing/recording quail hunts, entering data into digital formats, compiling/organizing data, providing general field support for our research projects, and conducting directed research projects. Additionally, the Lead Quail Research Technician will be responsible for leading seasonal technicians in field assignments and supporting East Science staff with coordination and logistics of research efforts. Successful applicants may also partake in other ongoing research projects and ranch management efforts when time allows (see website for more details). On-site bunk housing provided.

Qualifications:

Graduates or recent graduates in Natural Resources, Animal Science, Wildlife and Range Management or related degree programs are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be an honest, self-motivated person with a strong work ethic and an interest in hunting, ranching, and upland game birds. Applicants should possess strong people skills, leadership qualities, and communication ability. This position will require working long hours in adverse conditions, and lifting objects greater than 50 lbs. Successful candidates must maintain a valid driver license. Applicants are subjected to background checks. Applicants must be able to use software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, in addition to basic computer skills.

Salary:
$15 per hour
Benefits:

this is a temporary position, not to exceed 40 hours per week, with no health or retirement benefits
