Job Description:

We are recruiting a highly motivated and qualified MS student interested in forest finance and economics at the Department of Forest and Rangeland Stewardship, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. Assistantship is available beginning Fall (August) 2023. The successful candidate will work on a research project related to the financial performance of timber real estate investment trusts (timber REITs) and timberland investment management organization (TIMOs) in the US. The student will be involved in data collection, data analysis, result interpretation, manuscript and thesis preparation as well as result presentations in state, regional, national or international academic conferences.

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, business, forestry or a closely related field.

- Experience using Excel or other software for data management and data analysis.

- Experience working with financial data is a PLUS.

- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and proficiency in writing.

- Effective communication skills and willingness to learn.

Salary:
This position includes 2 years of GRA/GTA funding support (starting August 2023) plus a tuition waver. Annual stipend of $25,200 (i.e., $2100/month) will be provided along with health insurance.
