MS assistantship

eYield is a forest management decision-support tool that was developed by the University of Georgia, the University of Tennessee, and the Southern Regional Extension Forester's Office. eYield focuses on certain naturally regenerated forests of the eastern and southern United States. We plan to expand its capabilities to provide forest landowners with tools for assessing carbon additionality (MS project) and for modeling mixed-species eastern United States forests (PhD project).

Please contact Dr. Jacek Siry (jsiry@uga.edu) regarding this opportunity.

Those interested in the MS opportunity should have a strong understanding of forest carbon management and sustainability programs that are common in the United States.

Preference will be given to those applicants that have earned undergraduate or masters degrees in forestry, and those who have acquired some practical forest management experience in the eastern United States.
