Graduate Assistantship Job Field: Other Job Type: Full Time Location: South Carolina Location Detail: Aiken Job Description: The Xu Metal Ecotoxicology Lab (www.xiaoyuxulab.com) at University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (https://proxy.qualtrics.com/proxy/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.srel.uga.edu&to…) and the Bringolf Aquatic Toxiciology Lab (https://proxy.qualtrics.com/proxy/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.warnell.uga.ed…) at Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources (https://proxy.qualtrics.com/proxy/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.warnell.uga.edu…) are seeking a highly motivated M.S. student to join a collaborative research team investigating toxicity, exposure modeling, and risk assessment of chemical mixtures (e.g., trace metals and organic contaminants) in the Fall-2022 or spring-2023 semester. The successful applicant will be co-advised by Dr. Xiaoyu Xu and Dr. Robert Bringolf and enrolled in the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. The student selected for this position will be stationed at the Savannah River Ecology Lab in Aiken, SC, when not taking classes. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications for this position include a B.S. degree in environmental sciences, chemistry, ecology, public health, or a related discipline. Prior experience conducting field and/or laboratory work is required. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated excellence in writing skills, communication skills, quantitative skills, ability to work independently, and enthusiasm for research. The student also will work in close collaboration with other students, faculty, and agency personnel associated with this research. The preferred start date for this position is fall of 2022 or spring of 2023. Review of applications will begin June 1st and will continue until a suitable candidate is found.
