Employer University of West Georgia Biology Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills Graduate teaching assistantships (GTAs) for M.S. thesis students are available for the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 academic year in the Biology Program at the University of West Georgia. The 10-month GTAs will support undergraduate laboratory instruction.Prospective students for GTAs should contact potential thesis advisors from one of our 12 UWG Biology faculty members spanning a variety of subdisciplines. Once an advisor is identified, submit an M.S. application to the UWG application portal (due June 1) that includes a personal statement, resume, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Minimum Qualifications for all positionsB.S. in biology or related field with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.Willing graduate faculty member as thesis advisor in UWG Biology Program.Excellent quantitative, writing, and oral communication skills.Must meet all eligibility requirements for employment in U.S. Job Field: Fisheries Wildlife Job Type: Assistantship Location Detail: Carrollton, Georgia Salary: $1,000 per month (20 hours/week) from August 2026 through May 2027 ($10,000 total) Job Benefits: Tuition waiver for Fall/Spring semesters (student fees not covered)Requires medical insurance coverage.
