Job Description:

During this internship you will learn how a working forest is managed; below are a few examples of the kind of work you’ll gain exposure to:

• Flag boundaries, stream protection zones, property lines, roads, wildlife retention areas and habitat features, tree marking, and stream classification.

• Conduct stocking surveys, help with PCT contract administrative tasks, wildlfire response, and the use of GIS to develop mapping products we use for our work.

• Assist tree improvement in data collection and progeny site maintenance.

• Help as needed with nursery production. This could be learning routine cultural tasks to general nursery greenhouse hygiene.

• Connect with our operational employees to see how new technology and equipment processes have helped reduce the impact of harvesting on the forest.

Qualifications:

You have completed your first year or two of college and are ready to start exploring possible career options. You are an avid learner, inquisitive, and enjoy variety in your work. You are dependable and aren’t afraid to ask questions or ask for help when needed. Most of all you enjoy being outdoors and are excited about working in an industry that offers you that opportunity.

Salary:
The hourly rate for the internship is $20.00. Green Diamond offers a few benefits for interns. These include participation
