We have an immediate need for a Natural Resources Technician to support our business operations in Fort Novosel, Alabama. Do what you love and apply today. We will be in touch!

The Natural Resources Technician shall be required to perform supporting field duties to include:

• Prescribed burning, wildlife trapping, forestry cruising, wildlife surveys, forest inventory, invasive species control, operating equipment associated with these tasks as well as other natural resources management operations.

• Some of the equipment used and maintained by KGS: Dump truck, road grader, farm tractors, Dozers, ATV/UTV, Wildland Fire Brush Trucks, backhoe, boat and air boat.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have a degree in either Wildlife Biology/Forestry, plus 3+ years’ experience. In addition, this candidate will have a Class A or B CDL (preferred - must be able to obtain), boat operator’s license (preferred - must be able to obtain), NWGC firefighter Type 2 certification (preferred-must be able to obtain) and commercial pesticide license (preferred - must be able to obtain).

Candidates must be able to pass background check for security clearance and have a valid driver license with acceptable violation history. Other requirements include passing a company physical and drug screening, and a “Fit for Duty” statement. Certification in field of expertise is preferred plus National, regional, State and Local environmental related certifications requiring experience and written examination preferred.

All candidates who receive a written offer of employment will be required to undergo drug testing for commonly abused controlled substances in accordance with Federal Law. It is important to note although a State may have legalized a controlled substance, if the controlled substance is illegal per Federal Law, it is then considered to be illegal.
