The Nature Center at Huntington Beach State Park is seeking a Naturalist Program Specialist to join our team. This is a non-permanent field position working a 40-hour rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Position Responsibilities:
• Plan and present engaging interpretive programs for school groups and the general public on topics such as alligators, birds, seashells, reptiles, marine life, salt marsh ecosystems, and more.
• Assist with natural resource management projects including sea turtle nest protection, shorebird monitoring, invasive species surveys, and pollinator garden maintenance.
• Help maintain Nature Center exhibits and interpretive signage.
• Provide daily care and feeding for live educational animals, including snakes, turtles, fish, an alligator, and marine invertebrates.

Pay: $10.50/hour

• Associate’s degree or higher required
• Ability to work outdoors in hot, wet, or muddy conditions
• Familiarity with local wildlife, marine life, or coastal history preferred
• On-the-job training provided
• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk on uneven terrain
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
