Industry expert Erin Lincoln begins August 1 The Harley Langdale Jr. Center for Forest Business at the University of Georgia will soon welcome a new industry expert to its halls. Erin Lincoln (BSFR ’05), Southeast Region Manager of Tetra Tech’s Water Division, has been named director for the center, which is housed in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Lincoln will begin the position August 1. She succeeds Joe Parsons, who served as the center’s director from January 2021 until his retirement on June 30 of this year. As director, Lincoln will oversee critical functions essential to fulfilling the Center’s mission to lead in education, research, and service for the forest industry, private landowners, and Georgia by integrating sound business principles, globally competitive forest industry alternatives, and market-based solutions to resource challenges. “As a former Warnell student, I look forward to giving back and supporting the school which has helped me extensively throughout my career,” said Lincoln. “I’m excited to work with the CFB faculty and alumni to further our mission of providing national leadership in education, research, and service to the forest industry.” Additionally, she will coordinate the bi-annual Timberland Investment Conference, a key event that brings together industry leaders to discuss the latest trends and developments in forest investment. She brings over 16 years of experience in operations, financial management, and business to Warnell. “I hope to bring my practical and hands-on experience to the classroom to better prepare our Center for Forest Business students for future management and executive roles in forest business.” Lincoln is no stranger to holding leadership roles within Warnell, previously serving as a Chair for both the Warnell Dean’s Advisory Board and Young Alumni Committee. In 2018, she received the Distinguished Young Alumni of the Year Award recognizing her contributions to advancing the field of forestry and natural resources and her commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with Warnell. “We are thrilled to welcome Erin to our team. Her impressive experience in the private sector overseeing large natural resource projects and managing operations, along with her outstanding leadership in the forestry community and demonstrated commitment to Warnell and our partners, will significantly contribute to the growth and development of The Langdale Center’s program,” said Nate Nibbelink, interim dean of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. "Erin's longstanding dedication to the Warnell School has fostered strong relationships with internal and external partners and will be invaluable in mentoring the next generation of forestry professionals."
