Job Description:

Our Forestry division has an opening for a qualified individual to supervise the maintenance program at the Company’s new state-of-the-art conifer nursery in Siskiyou County. The successful applicant will work from the Nursery, located in Grenada, CA.

  • Work with the Nursery Supervisor and management team to optimize productivity

  • Assure safe workplace practices are followed and promote safety awareness through leading by example

  • Improve and lead the maintenance department through predictive, preventative, and proactive maintenance analysis

  • Manage methods and procedures for allocating labor, planning, scheduling, and timely completion of jobs

  • Ensure efficient operation of greenhouses, irrigation systems, growing machinery, and grounds

  • Identify opportunities and take measures to reduce waste and inefficiencies

  • Coordinate with production and growing departments to determine project priorities

  • Effectively manage crew work time and duties during production, breakdowns, and emergencies

  • Work may consist of seasonal and unexpected variations in time requirements due to sensitivities of the crop

Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of agricultural irrigation systems and plumbing techniques

  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanics, carpentry, welding/metal fabrication, steel construction, heating systems, electronically controlled systems, and best practices

  • Understand machinery operations, with sufficient knowledge to address both preventative and corrective maintenance

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew

  • Proven commitment to safety and company policy

  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing work environment
