Deadline: Tue, 09/19/2023 - 12:00pm Employer: Sierra Pacific Industries Job Field: Forestry Other Job Type: Full Time Location: California Location Detail: Siskiyou County, CA Job Description: Our Forestry division has an opening for a qualified individual to supervise the maintenance program at the Company’s new state-of-the-art conifer nursery in Siskiyou County. The successful applicant will work from the Nursery, located in Grenada, CA. Work with the Nursery Supervisor and management team to optimize productivity Assure safe workplace practices are followed and promote safety awareness through leading by example Improve and lead the maintenance department through predictive, preventative, and proactive maintenance analysis Manage methods and procedures for allocating labor, planning, scheduling, and timely completion of jobs Ensure efficient operation of greenhouses, irrigation systems, growing machinery, and grounds Identify opportunities and take measures to reduce waste and inefficiencies Coordinate with production and growing departments to determine project priorities Effectively manage crew work time and duties during production, breakdowns, and emergencies Work may consist of seasonal and unexpected variations in time requirements due to sensitivities of the crop Qualifications: At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred Working knowledge of agricultural irrigation systems and plumbing techniques Demonstrated understanding of mechanics, carpentry, welding/metal fabrication, steel construction, heating systems, electronically controlled systems, and best practices Understand machinery operations, with sufficient knowledge to address both preventative and corrective maintenance Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew Proven commitment to safety and company policy Ability to thrive in a constantly changing work environment Miscellaneous: WHY JOIN OUR TEAM Because this is more than an invitation, it's a commitment to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth to everyone!
