Job Description:

LandYield is seeking a full-time Operations Coordinator to work out of our headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This position should be a dynamic individual excited to work across a range of LandYield business areas and activities.

Qualified applicants will have experience and/or education in some or all of the following areas: forestry, forest carbon projects, project management, administration, budgeting, organizational systems, record keeping and contractual work. This position will work directly with and for the Director and be willing to learn and grow with the young company. 

Applicants should have the following qualifications and experience but be willing to assist with whatever is needed. LandYield is a young company and successful applicants will need to be flexible and willing to engage in a start-up environment. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and organizing incoming documents and contracts via mail and email 
  • Creating and managing information/document management system
  • Contract management – filing, learning how to prepare timber deeds – building system for processing and filing
  • Managing budget inputs and tracking expenses
  • Assisting Director with annual budgeting
  • Conducting research to help answer client questions related to LandYield contracts and ACR methodology
  • Handling client and partner requests for documents and/or program information
  • Notarizing contracts
  • Managing Chattanooga office, including paying rent, receiving and sending mail, stocking office supplies as needed, taking care of plants, etc.
  • Budgeting and expense tracking
  • Tracking invoices
  • Updating budget
  • Reviewing agreements
  • Educate landowners on LandYield program requirements
  • Assisting marketing and sales manager with direct mailers 
  • Manage/mail merchandise to landowners, foresters
  • Building library of questions and answers – categorize for reference
  • Helping create educational materials
  • Becoming fluent in and assisting with the management of CRM platform

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Attending conferences and events and assisting with setting up booths and disseminating program information
  • Assisting Director with scheduling, travel, event planning, booking space for client meetings

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree and/or 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience and/or education related to forestry and/or forest carbon markets
  • Experience and/or education related to business administration 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel (work sample required)
  • Paralegal experience or qualifications preferred but not required
  • Experience with carbon markets preferred but not required
  • Certified TN notary or willing to obtain
