Wagner is a 65+ year old forest management company, managing over 2 million acres of forest land for a variety of clients.  We are currently seeking an Operations Forester to work in Western Maine in the Rangeley Lakes Region.  Wagner is dedicated to practicing and promoting sustainable stewardship ethics, ensuring our lands comply with the standards of third-party certification programs such as SFI and FSC.

Wagner Foresters work under the supervision of a Regional Manager and will be trained to accomplish a variety of tasks such as harvest layout and supervision, road construction layout and supervision, harvest operations inspections, site specific management plans, regeneration surveys, property line maintenance and other field duties as directed.

  • Ability to work alone in a variety of field conditions including all weather types and rugged terrain.
  • Applicants must have an AS or BS degree in Forestry.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and own a four-wheel drive vehicle.
  • Ability to use GIS/GPS technology in the field and interpret maps such as forest type maps and satellite imagery.
  • Experience in natural resources field data collections and forestry field tools.
  • Well organized and physically able to carry out tasks independently in the field.
