Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Outdoor Content Producer/Field Editor to join our team. This role combines hands-on outdoor experience with content creation expertise across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of Georgia's outdoor sports and the ability to create engaging content while meeting regular deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create compelling hunting, fishing, and outdoor content for print magazine, website, and social media platforms
• Conduct field research, including photography and interviews
• Meet monthly magazine production deadlines with high-quality articles and features
• Collaborate with editorial team to determine content strategy and placement across platforms
• Edit and fact-check submissions from freelance contributors
• Maintain brand consistency across all content channels
• Build and nurture relationships with industry experts, agencies, and outdoor community leaders
• Participate in field activities including hunting trips, fishing expeditions, and outdoor events
• Assist in coverage of GON events such as Outdoor Blast and Antler Scoring Days
• Manage and create content for social media platforms
• Contribute to e-newsletter production and distribution

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in outdoor sports, particularly hunting and fishing in Georgia
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
• Experience in content creation for multiple platforms (print, digital, social)
• Photography skills and equipment
• Proficiency with social media management
• Knowledge of AP style
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively
• Physical ability to participate in outdoor activities
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Previous experience in outdoor sports media
• Knowledge of Georgia wildlife regulations and conservation
• Experience with content management systems
• Video production and editing skills
• Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
