P-CREW Youth Corps

P-CREW Youth Corps engages youth (ages 16-18) on restoration projects to inspire positive development and foster the next generation of natural resource stewards!

Plumas Conservation Restoration and Education in Watersheds (P-CREW) Youth Corps is a residential and fully immersive paid summer job for youth from across Northern California. P-CREW Youth Corps crews live and camp together while working on meaningful restoration projects, participating in outdoor activities on the weekends, and deepening their connection to the land and water.

This program was designed to engage and empower youth to become stewards of the land through paid work on conservation projects, educational lessons on ecology and sustainable outdoor recreation, social and emotional learning activities, and building lasting friendships within their crew. All transportation, gear, equipment, and meals are provided to the crews to support equitable access to our program.

Qualifications:

Crew Leader:

 

● Wilderness First Aid certification (or higher)

● Experience working with teens (ages 15-18) and/or past experience serving with other Conservation Corps or other natural resource management organizations (Forest Service, nonprofits, etc…)

● Social and emotional skills to promote positive personal growth and develop relationships with people from all backgrounds, abilities, cultures, orientations, identities, and communities.

● Leadership experience

● Camping skills and familiarity with leave no trace practices.

● Clean Driving Record

● Pre-service background screening required

● Proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination

Field Coordinator:

Qualifications:

● Proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination

● Clean Driving Record

● Experience working with teens (ages 15-18).

● Experience working on or supporting youth and/or young adult crews in conservation/restoration activities.

● Social and emotional skills to promote positive personal growth and develop relationships with people from all backgrounds, abilities, cultures, orientations, identities, and communities.

● Comfortable working in both the office and the field for 8 hours a day.

● Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Benefits:

Crew Leader:

Training (40-50 hours per week): $760 - $950 weekly

P-CREW Youth Corps (10 weeks + Wrap Up Week): $1,026 weekly + all meals provided

Field Coordinator:

$19.50 per hour, 40-48 hours per week

Housing is not currently provided.
