Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

Conduct interpretive programs and recreational activities for park visitors. Responsibilities include leading hikes or tours, conducting nature programs and campfire programs, leading games and other recreational activities and conducting a Junior Ranger Day Camp for children.

Programming you would lead or assist with include:

  • Historic bridge tours
  • Nature and plant ID hikes
  • Guided river paddles
  • Dip netting
  • Educational outreach with local schools
  • Field Trips at the park
  • Strong communication skills and curiosity about history and nature.
  • Basic Computer Skills- Word, Excel. Familiarity with Canva / graphic design skills a plus
  • Social Media- Manage Facebook, Instagram. Post events to Flagpole and on State Parks website
  • Willing to work weekends (when visitation is high)
