Job Description:

As a Ph.D. Research Assistant on the Carbon Environmental Management System project, you will play a pivotal role in the evaluation and validation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) process and associated management activities. This includes:

• Collaboration with state-lands managers to ensure accuracy and relevance of management activities.

• Development of data collection protocols and attributes for the EMS.

• Contribution to the creation of a comprehensive white paper assessing the effectiveness of the Forest Management Activities/EMS process and carbon sequestration through forest management activities.

• Integration of post-activity data collection.

• Conducting site audits for specific management activities.

• Development of written reports reflecting the results of the audit process.

Qualifications:

• Preferably have completed a MS program, in forestry, environmental sciences, land management, or a related field.

• Strong analytical skills and a background or interest in carbon management.

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

• Previous research experience and familiarity with environmental management or land management systems is advantageous.

Salary:
$25,000/yr
