The Department of Forestry at Mississippi State University is offering a fully funded PhD assistantship starting Fall 2025 (August 20) to support research on the economics of forest resources and conservation. The position includes a competitive stipend ($25,000/yr), full tuition waiver and support ($14,858/yr), and student health insurance ($2,124/yr), with funding secured for three years through a research assistantship. The selected student will work under the supervision of Dr. Changyou Sun and Dr. Sabhyata Lamichhane.

Qualifications
• A Master’s degree in forestry, natural resources, economics, or a related field with a strong foundation in economics and statistics.
• Solid skills in data analysis and econometrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
