The Department of Forestry at Mississippi State University is offering a fully funded PhD assistantship starting Fall 2026 to support research on analyzing the southern forest products demand and supply. The position includes a competitive stipend ($27,000/yr), full tuition waiver and support, and student health insurance, with funding secured for three years through a research assistantship. The selected student will work under the supervision of Dr. Sabhyata Lamichhane.

  • A Master’s degree in forestry, natural resources, economics, or a related field with a strong foundation in economics and statistics.
  • Solid skills in data analysis and econometrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
