Graduate assistantship associated with the eYield project.

eYield is a forest management decision-support tool that was developed by the University of Georgia, the University of Tennessee, and the Southern Regional Extension Forester's Office. eYield focuses on certain naturally regenerated forests of the eastern and southern United States. We plan to expand its capabilities to provide forest landowners with tools for assessing carbon additionality (MS project) and for modeling mixed-species eastern United States forests (PhD project).

Those interested in this PhD opportunity should have a strong analytical / biometric background and should be familiar with forests of the eastern and southern United States. Evidence of quantitative skills in assessing forest conditions is desired. Evidence of strong data management skills and the ability to synthesize research into publishable works is desired.

Preference will be given to those applicants that have earned undergraduate or masters degrees in forestry, and those who have acquired some practical forest management experience in the eastern United States.
