This full-time, exempt position will report to the Region Planning & Inventory Manager and is based out of the Georgetown, GA office. Key FunctionsAs a Planning Forester, you will be responsible for harvest planning in the western Georgia/Florida area, building annual harvest plans that align with area silvicultural and harvest strategies. Your role extends to championing safety and risk awareness, intervening when unsafe practices arise, and serving as a model of safety for others. You'll demonstrate expertise in timber management techniques and oversee tract preparation activities, including validating harvest candidates, creating prescriptions, addressing environmental concerns, and marking stream boundaries. The ability to manage SFI-related constraints, such as opening size and adjacency, will be invaluable. This role requires a significant portion of time in the woods and travel.In this multifaceted role, you'll manage yearly contract budgets, foster communication between marketing, harvesting, and silviculture foresters, and oversee the maintenance of existing forest roads to meet safety and environmental standards, enabling operations to continue in diverse weather conditions. Job Benefits: Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $56,500 - $100,100 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5-7% of base pay.
