Job Description:

Louisiana Pond Management is a fast-growing company currently entertaining resumes for a field biologist in pond management. This position requires many different types of work in all kinds of weather. Candidates must be a motivated self-starter, with a willingness to learn & grow skills and knowledge set. Overnight travel may be required occasionally, with notice. This is a full-time salary position, with paid health insurance & an employer-matched IRA. Requirements:

  • Basic biological knowledge, people skills, mechanical work, communications/writing and continuing education are required.

  • Ability to take direction & constructive criticism. Communicate effectively & professionally with customers (conversation control, educating, listening).

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Clean driving record

  • Punctuality

Tasks & Abilities



Vehicles & Trip Preparation

  • Load trucks & secure load

  • Pull/hook up trailer

  • Maintain trucks, trailers & equipment

    Maintenance Routes

  • Apply herbicides effectively & safely

  • Learn & identify aquatic plants

  • Read, study & apply herbicide label information

  • Become certified in pesticide application

  • Document treatments & management activities neatly & turn in for invoicing

  • Monitor Google docs/sheets for tasks & scheduling

  • Safely & effectively use Google mapping to drive maintenance route

Equipment installation

  • Learn equipment (aeration, fountains, fish feeders) information for installation & recommendation.
  • Assembly, installation & repair of aeration systems, fountains, fish feeders and others. Plumbing PVC neatly & efficiently. Electrical wiring (safe & supervised). Small tools familiarity & organization.

  • Monitor & maintain warehouse inventory

Boating/water work capabilities

  • Ability to launch & load a full size boat

  • Ability to swim

  • Ability to load & navigate a kayak

Fisheries & Water

  • Fish identification

  • Weights & measurements

  • Report writing

  • Water quality testing & monitoring
