Job Description:

We are seeking a post-doctoral research associate to join the School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences (SFFGS) Natural Resource Economics and Policy Lab at the University of Florida, beginning in August 2024, for a duration of 1 year (additional years are dependent on external funding availability).

 

The primary focus of this role is on natural resource valuation in forest and fisheries based contexts using various stated and revealed preference models. Responsibilites include:

• Writing and developing research proposals

• Analyzing existing datasets

• Collecting data for existing projects

• Mentoring graduate students

• Writing and submitting peer-reviewed journal articles

• Present research findings at conferences and meetings

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Natural Resource Economics, Environmental Economics, Economics or a related field with a focus on revealed and stated preference modeling.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrate prior research experience and strong communication skills

• Show evidence of proficient economic modeling skills

• Experience with geospatial analysis

• Demonstrate mentorship experience and collaborative team working experiences

Salary:
$55,000/year for 1 year; Additional years dependent on external funding availability

Benefits:

This position provides 1 year of funding for a 40 hour/week position with health insurance options for the University of Florida. Office space and operating support (i.e., laptop, travel to conferences/for research) are included.
