Job Description:

Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral research scholar appointment to be held at the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences Oregon State University. Primary research focus is to use existing long-term monitoring data to estimating the abundance, distribution, and dynamics of amphibian populations and develop decision support tools to aid in restoration and recovery planning. Applicants must have completed all the requirements for their doctoral program (PhD or equivalent), with demonstrated research accomplishments, and publications in the primary research literature.  Applicants should have the necessary skills and experience with sample design and the estimation of animal population parameters and should have interest and capabilities in the development of novel approaches to estimating and modeling population dynamics. The position will primarily involve data analysis and modeling with some potential for field research. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of James Peterson in close collaboration with Dr. Michael Adams and USGS Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center. Excellent command of the English language, quantitative analytical skills, and written and verbal communication skills are absolutely required. Special consideration will be given to candidates possessing one or more of the following knowledge and skills: spatial statistics, amphibian sampling and ecology, and Bayesian modeling techniques.

Salary:
$65,000- $67,000 year
