Deadline: Tue, 10/24/2023 - 12:00pm Employer: Clemson University Job Field: Forestry Job Type: Full Time Location: South Carolina Location Detail: Clemson Job Description: We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to collaborate on a multi-state project investigating the ecology and conservation of freshwater fishes in the southeastern US. The postdoc will work closely with Drs. Brandon Peoples (Clemson) and Luke Bower (USGS), as well as numerous agency and nongovernmental collaborators. Broadly, our goals are aimed to (1) better understand the distribution, rarity, and imperilment of freshwater fishes, (2) estimate future impacts of climate and land use change, and (3) use this information to develop open-access conservation planning tools to better inform smart development and restoration efforts. There will also be ample opportunities for pursuing independent research questions as part of a growing collaborative research group, as well as professional development tailored to your career interests. Qualifications: • Experience working with large, multi-source datasets • Experience and/or interest in collaborating with university- and agency-based researchers • A strong analytical skillset • Proven experience with scientific writing and nontechnical communication.
