Job Description:

Southeastern Louisiana University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to gather and analyze temporal and spatial data on invertebrates (shrimp, crabs, and clams) from Lake Maurepas, a slightly saline lake on the upper end of the Lake Pontchartrain estuary. The postdoctoral researcher will work with the Project Director to develop an invertebrate monitoring program, as well as analyze water quality data from several stationary lake buoys.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Fisheries, Natural Resources, Biology, Zoology or a related field and should have experience collecting and analyzing community data. Preference will be given to applicants with experience using standard aquatic sampling gear, including traps, trawls, grabs, and dredges. Applicants should also have a strong statistical background. Applicants must be organized and self-motivated, and have strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a research team. This is a grant supported position.

Salary:
$55,000/yr
