Employer Trumbull Forest Products Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills Trumbull Forest Products Inc is hiring a full-time Procurement Forester. The person filling this position should be proficient at all duties required of a procurement forester. This includes all aspects of locating, assessing, pricing and negotiating the purchase and successful harvest of standing timber to supply logs to our Atlantic, PA sawmill.Essential Functions:The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Maintain a good working relationship with our wood source suppliersProven experience in forestry management or a related field is essential.All aspects of purchasing standing timber.Locate and mark boundary lines.Cruise standing timber for quantity.Appraise timber for quality and value.Locate skid roads and landing locations.Apply costs to all aspects of timber sale preparation and harvesting.Due diligence in purchasing.Title research.Qualify properties in advance of timber cruising.Apply for various types of permitsAll aspects of oversight of harvest of standing timber sales.Visit harvest sites to determine if BMPs are being used appropriately.Assure boundary lines are being observed.Determine whether residual damage is acceptable.Check to see that the proper trees are being cut.
