We are currently searching for an experienced Project Ecologist to support our Southeast Region located in Atlanta, GA.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading regulatory compliance for a variety of build and nature infrastructure projects. The candidate with have at least 3 years’ experience completing environmental permitting and compliance documentation for infrastructure projects for GDOT. Experience with other DOT’s including TDOT would also be preferred.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

- Lead or support complex permitting projects – including linear infrastructure and transportation projects

- Collaborate with internal teams and client representatives, consulting with regulatory agencies, and interact with the public

- Perform field sampling and other tasks at locations that may include for Wetland Delineations, Stream Assessments and Protected Species Surveys

Interpret field data and prepare environmental reports and permit related documents for submission to clients and regulators

- Coordinate the preparation of figures in GIS or CAD that are developed from field or research data

- Public Outreach and Public Involvement Meeting attendance and preparation

- Prepare and Conduct Quality Control reviews of data and reporting documents/materials

- Commit to supporting project schedules, which may require extended hours, work outside the office, overnight travel, and possible longer-term assignments

- Support project management with proposal preparation activities and participates in business development initiatives

 

What you need to have:

 

- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Resource Management, or related field

- 3 - 7 years of experience conducting and leading environmental permitting and compliance documentation

- Experience preparing Natural Resource Reports for GDOT and TDOT, and municipal transportation projects is required

- Proficient with MS Word and GIS Software

- Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification a plus

- Experience with NEPA compliance
