Job Description:

A privately owned ranch is seeking a Property Coordinator to help oversee a 2000+-acre tract in Foxworth MS. The candidate will be responsible to work alongside the Ranch Manager (40 yrs. at site) in coordinating all ranch operations, which include: a small-scale cattle operation, timber, farming, limited commercial hunting for whitetail deer & exotics, and a pending (summer) youth camp. Candidate must enjoy working outdoors at this legendary site.

 

The successful candidate must work well with little supervision, be self-motivated and a forward thinker, supervise ranch contract staff, assist in managing various contractors and site projects, and be willing to care for the property as their own.

 

Essential duties and tasks are listed below. These responsibilities are an overview of the position’s requirements and not the only responsibilities. As needed, the candidate will be expected to perform other necessary duties in support of the effective operation of the property. The intent is to expand the job duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator role to the point of the successful candidate transitioning to the Site Director role within a short period of time.

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications Required:

B.S. degree in Wildlife Management, Forestry, or related field, plus related field experience. A M.S. degree in a related field is desirable, but not required.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates safe practices and compliance with ranch rules at all times

• Planning schedules and overseeing ranch projects

• Serve as primary (owner) contact for management plans of Timber, Wildlife, and Cattle

• Ability to safely operate farm equipment: bulldozer, tractors, etc.

• Develop and execute Maintenance Plans for equipment and facilities

• Assist 3rd party resource experts in Hunting and Timber operations, on seasonal basis

• Insure operations continue to be in compliance with county, state and federal regulations

 

Physical Fitness requirements:

• Ability to work outside in varying climate conditions year-round

• Ability to lift objects up to 60lbs from ground to waist, in repetition

• Ability to climb and work off ladders and scaffolding

• Ability to work with chainsaws

• Perform various other strenuous outdoor activities when needed; without medical limitations

 

Work Schedule:

Typically M-F with hours adjusted for seasonal weather conditions. Must be flexible to accommodate ranch activities and occasional required role outside of normal business hours.

 

Candidate should be proficient in general computer skills of including MS Office applications, email, and certain Tablet/Smart-Phone Apps.

 

Candidate must pass periodic drug tests, and annual background test for working at youth facility.

Miscellaneous:

This is a full-time salaried job with a competitive salary and benefits including annual bonus based on performance. Salary will be adjusted for qualifications and experience. On site housing and business-use vehicle is available to the selected candidate as part of the compensation package.
