Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

Job Responsibilities: As the Education Specialist at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center (CEWC), this person is responsible for assisting with events that are part of the Outdoors Beyond Barriers (OBB) program.  This includes but is not limited to adaptive hunting, fishing, and outdoor wildlife viewing.  The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Adaptive Hunting and Fishing Coordinator. Other responsibilities include supporting tabling events within the community, maintaining supplies and equipment, and assisting with other duties assigned to the team.  This position requires the candidate to communicate clearly and confidently to individuals and small groups, work in all weather conditions, lift up to 40 lbs., and either have experience in or are willing to learn to load and tow trailers.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum qualifications plus: 

Current DNR/WRD employee.

History of working with people who have accessibility issues.

Background in firearms safety.

Background in fishing equipment and vocabulary.

Background in using Office 365 to include Excel, Word, etc.
