Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

Wyoming Game and Fish Department, in partnership with the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (CAHSS), seeks a Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) Specialist to be located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This is a 12-month position starting in July 2025, and offers a chance to hone general R3 skills by supporting community-based social marketing campaigns and programs focused on recruiting and retaining hunters and anglers.

Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, human dimensions, outdoor recreation, tourism, wildlife management, or related fields, as well as experience teaching fishing, archery, firearms, navigation, back-country hiking, or team-building activities.

The role involves collaborating on strategic planning, developing email and social media content, supporting programs like Becoming an Outdoors-Woman and the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP), and engaging with partners across the state.

QUALIFICATIONS:
**Must have a valid driver's license.


PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to those with a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, human dimensions, outdoor recreation, tourism, wildlife management, or other related field. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching fishing, archery, firearms, navigation, back-country hikes, and team builders.


KNOWLEDGE:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with all ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to develop compelling and accurate digital content.
• Knowledge of hunting and fishing techniques.
• Must have the ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions and be comfortable pulling trailers and operating 4WD vehicles.
• Ability to maintain composure and delegate during continuously changing work conditions.
• Must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, enthusiasm, flexibility and a passion for working with others.
