The Region Technical Forester we need is a team player, a forward thinker, and attentive to detail. This individual should be able to work independently on their projects and assist other team members with the technical aspects of their tasks. The Region Technical Forester will use working and applied knowledge of forestry skills and technology to complete inventory fieldwork and analysis. The Region Technical Forester will assist the Operations and Planning Foresters by providing GIS and basic IT support. They will provide guidance and expertise to other team members through mapping software, GPS, and field data collection workflows. The Regional Technical Forester will support the Forest Operations Team by completing administrative and landscape-level tasks such as filing permits, implementing the regeneration verification and Forest Practices Act compliance program, and providing forest inventory services. This position will use various GIS platforms, mobile applications, and other technologies to manage lands.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

Maine Licensed Professional Forester or the ability to become a Licensed Professional Forester within three years of employment

Required travel and ability to function as a team member on large projects throughout the U.S.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry or a closely related field

Valid driver’s license
