Serves on the Regional Coordination Team (RCT) and assists with developing the regional work plan. Essential Job Duties Lead regional resource management Unit staff of the region to conduct resource management activities on Department owned land. Responsible for ensuring staff conducts management activities that are supported by the Department’s Design for the *Future strategic plan and assist in research as needed. Hires, directs performance and conducts disciplinary action for resource management staff as needed. Ensure all staff report strategic plan accomplishments which includes federal aid accomplishment reports. In coordination with RCT, recommends area regulations for Department owned lands and proposed actions for land acquisitions, donations and disposals. Coordinate with the Infrastructure Management supervisor to implement infrastructure management activities on Department owned lands. Works with the RCT and staff to coordinate and implement priority management work on both public and private lands. Investigates and works with Regional Administrator to solve user conflicts. Works with the Recreational Use Manager to provide public use activities on Department owned lands Ensures regional staff follow the Department policies established in the Resource Policy Manual, including implementing best management practices on service roads, timber sales, riparian zones and old fields to prevent soil erosion on Department owned lands. Qualifications: Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources, Fisheries, Forestry, Wildlife or related field. Five (5) years of related work experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to manage and facilitate meetings, focus groups, etc. Ability to develop and administer contracts, agreements and easements. Plan, design, implement and evaluate engineering, fisheries, wildlife, and/or forestry management projects Maintain internal controls to track expenditures. Budget development and implementation Ability to manage project proposal processes and implementation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Department personnel government partners and the general public.
