Job Description:

The purpose of the position is to conduct research and collaborate with researchers in topics related to assessment of sustainability impacts of forest-based circular bioeconomy with an aim to evaluate and improve post-harvest product “hotspots” in the value chain. Primary program areas include value-added bioproducts from forest biomass, packaging, and wood-based composites, and building materials. The individual will serve on graduate student committees, develop and participate in research proposals, be active in presentations and involved with conferences, partner organizations, and professional societies.

Qualifications:

Required:

A Ph.D. in technical, engineering, decision science, or business-related discipline.

Experience in life cycle analysis, industrial ecology, techno-economics, and supply chain analysis.

Demonstrated excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Applicants must be eligible to accept employment in the United States at the time the appointment is made.

Preferred:

Knowledge in processing of bioproducts (wood composites, mass timber panels, nanocellulose, etc.) building construction and operation, biomass to energy conversion.
